With the oversight of President Derek, thought is being given to resurrecting the old Probus Investment group under an expanded format called the Retirement & investment Group.

Driven by Barry Amond, John Hewison and Geoff Abbott, the concept is to establish a discussion group for members who have interest in financial security, health and wellbeing and making the most of retirement.  Knowledge would be gained from each other and from invited speakers

Suggested subjects for discussion could be:

• Retirement planning – e.g. Keeping active and engaged, improving health and wellbeing, downsizing and aged care, mental health, living as a widower.
• Investment – e.g. Planning and strategy, investment alternatives and outcomes, Superannuation planning, options and tips and traps.
• Government & commercial support Services
• Estate planning – e.g. authorities such as Powers of Attorney, Wills, Testamentary Trusts, taxation planning and strategies.
• General record keeping for essential family information

The plan is to establish a list of members that are interested and then run a quick survey of topics of interest to build a program from there.

 Our first meeting will be on Thursday 10^th September at 2.0 pm at the Sandringham Library where we will discuss “An Introduction to Estate Planning and Powers of Attorney”
